Just a note to use the portal. They did have like over 800 submissions and only accepted 5. I figured it was a long shot. I read some work of someone who was accepted, and it was amazing. No regrets and definitely feel like BU made the right choice! I did get into the university of my choice though, so I'm super pleased. (No. Brown was not my first choice. I know it's weird)

Email that decision was posted to my portal. Kind rejection.

800 applicants for 5 spots. This wasn't one of my top choices, so I'm not really upset at all.

Found an automated email in my spam folder to check the ApplyWeb portal for the decision letter. I was assuming it was a rejection since that's usually what those kinds of emails mean. Right before I clicked on the decision letter, I saw a button next to it that said "complete your decision form" and thought "huh that's weird, haven't seen that before" but didn't make the connection at all. It turned out to be an acceptance letter. This is my fifth time applying to MFA programs; I was previously waitlisted at Brown in 2019.

Please let Brown University know if you've been admitted whether or not you plan to attend. Those of us on the waitlist are dying out here. Congrats to those who got in.
