Computer Science PhD Graduate School Admission Results

Rejected from PhD, but offered unfunded Masters. Have year+ research experience in one lab, and quarter research experiences in 2 others--none 100% in field of interest. No publications, though! Come from a small liberal arts undergrad.

I posted the previous 'K-12 education' entry. Looks like they decided to admit after providing the additional information. Over the moon!!

A tuition reduction to $25 per term as part of a Graduate Research Assistantship with an initial monthly stipend of $2,131. Background: M.Phil. from HK. One 1st-author journal, two 1st-author top conf paper, one 1st-author top conf submitted, two 1st-author 2nd-tier conf paper, multiple 2nd-tier conf paper with 3rd-author or behind. Weak undergrad background, good master GPA and research background. 10-month Intern at Shenzhen Inst of Adv Tech, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Currently visiting CMU as a Research Associate. Bad GRE, Good TOEFL(30 30 23 28)

Got accepted with RAship and CS Excellence fellowship.

5 first-author publications, plus 3 papers in review. Did my undergrad in CS at UIUC. Awarded $1980/mo stipend. No interviews were needed.
