Computer Science PhD Graduate School Admission Results

TTPB: Yes, if you haven't anything from UIUC at this moment, it's 99.99% a rejection. I'm currently an undergraduate in UIUC and both of my POIs said that all PhD offers are out by 3.7 (virtual campus tour day for incoming PhDs). But still, you could try contact the department and try to get into the MSCS which I think is also a very decent program.

Can it be assumed that if we have heard nothing by this point, there is no hope? Purdue just had their prospective students event, and I assume UIUC is on a similar schedule.

Admission. No method of funding

Had a e-mail interview in Jan., didn't went well.

I reached my POI today and was told that the admissions this year were closed. It's sad but reasonable. I am not sure how many people are still waiting but good luck.

I'm the one who got the open house invitation yesterday. Just received email this afternoon with the official acceptance letter. Excited!

Strong GPA ('19), high GRE (160+), publication, conference presentations, internships, work experience. Had an early interview, spoke with 2 professors of interest before and during the process. Unsure why I was rejected. My guess is covid restricted funding.

Area: Comp bio. 3 years industry experience, Master's Degree from a respectable Canadian university. 2 conference pubs. Lower end GPA. Excited to attend virtual visit :)
