Applied for PHD in Wireless Communications, accepted for masters with $9k scholarship per year.

After so long, so many emails later... no notification emails or letters too. Just 'Denied' written on the portal. Anyway, I've deferred all of my plans, so next year maybe! Good luck to all those selected!

Took them long enough to deny me. Oh well I was already accepted to a better school anyways.

So I did receive some solid feedback from the advising department. I take back my last post, I was a little upset with not having heard anything, but after reaching out to some of the faculty and administration, I was able to get positive feedback. I am a student at Virginia Tech already though, a non-degree seeking student at the moment, so perhaps me being in the network was conducive to receiving valuable response. Anyway, just wanted to give a final update

Called the ECE department to get an update and was told that if I had not received an offer by May 15th I am effectively rejected, but rejection letters are not sent out until much later just incase something else goes wrong with someone else already admitted. I was not able to get any feedback on my application. When I pushed for some feedback or who to contact for some feedback I was told there was nothing necessarily wrong with my application, the amount of admitted students was simply too high already. This seems like a cop-out from giving some constructive feedback on how I could improve my application, and that is a bit unfortunate, but so is life. Good luck to everyone else!

TTPB: Congratulations. Is this an admit for their MASC Program?

Are they even considering our applications? Or do we just forget and wait for a rejection letter? Upon being asked about the status, I received a standard reply from them saying it was under review. Can someone please confirm if we're still in the race?

Just received acceptance to MS Computer Engineering. What a long wait!

No results yet for an application submitted in December......frustrating...

No clueless on when the results will be out.....did anyone hear back?

Did anyone hear from UT Austin yet? I've written a few emails but the responses have been the same: "Thank you for your query. My records indicate that your application file is currently being evaluated by the admissions committee, and we expect to have decisions completed within the next few days. We appreciate your patience waiting for the decision on your application while the members of our admissions committee get acclimated to the online-learning environment. Please pardon the lateness of my reply."

TTPB: No, I haven't received a decision yet. Cost was a big deterrent for me and all I got were CMU and UCSD (Weird flex, I know). I'd pinned my hopes on UT Austin, but now I'll probably go to a university in Germany.

To the Canadian fellow who was accepted for a masters of Electrical Engineering at McGill. Did you receive confirmed financial support yet?
