MFA Graduate School Admission Results

To offer a counterpoint: if you don't have funding, this means you wouldn't be teaching. For me, the teaching experience is part of the whole package, and if you want to work in academia at all later it will be important. Additionally, a lot of professors recommend doing something between undergrad and graduate school. While you're probably qualified and ready to go, the time between the two will give you world experience and, without looking for them, things to write about. I won't recommend the job without knowing what it is, but if you're not funded and coming straight out of undergrad, I would say go live for a year or two and apply again. Your dream experience probably includes funding, so don't settle for a compromised version of your dream.

Has anyone heard from Brown re: their digital language arts MFA? I know fiction and poetry applicants have gotten emails, but I haven't heard a peep about digital language arts.

Had two internships, a study abroad experience at Oxford University and graduating from Undergrad with a dual degree in BA Painting and BS Business Admin with an undeclared minor in Art History. Received a TA offer with a small stipend and a 6 credit tuition reduction.

Accepted to the optional-residency program today! I applied in Fiction/Nonfiction.

3rd on the waitlist, so I don't feel like I have a great chance of getting an offer. But Brown is my top choice, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Congrats to those who were accepted!

I was the one who posted a fiction rejection for UVic. The rejection email seemed to be the same one the university uses for every program, with no details on number of applicants. Portal was updated with the decision. Haven't seen anything for Guelph other than one poetry acceptance, and also waiting for fiction. Last year they let me know Mar 29.

This is my dream school, so praying to get in from the waitlist soon.

Anyone have any advice re NYU? What do you think of the program? (I was rejected from Iowa, JHU, and Brown, and still waiting on two schools.)

I'm sure I'll get an email any minute, but I checked the platform and there it was. Not even waitlisted this year, despite a 1st class honours. Great. Ok. Don't know what I'll do with my life now.

lol I got an email telling me I was waitlisted maybe 5 minutes after submitting a question about it on here. Also, WTF?! I was sure I'd been rejected!
