Wtf PSU is doing. Can just give out results and let us live peacefully. What a drag.

"Admission to the CSE department is extremely competitive. Each year more than 900 applications are received. Approximately 50 students are admitted in the fall semester, and an overwhelming majority of funded applicants are Ph.D. students." - PSU EECS website. Afaik, about 25 admits have been given already, they send decisions up to May second week.

TTPB: Can you please share your stats? I honestly don't know how competitive PSU is. Also, do you know what the intake of the program is and how approximately many admits have been sent out? Thanks a lot!!

Ignore WL: PSU deadline for accepting the admission was 15th April. Now it is high time for uni to send the acceptance/reject to waitlisted apps. Any idea if they would send it soon or by next week??

1a/6r/0p - Only one (unfunded) PhD acceptance; 3 PhD applications were accepted for partially-funded master's programs instead. Tough cycle. I think I'm going to wait until next year.

[Not WL] TPB: from what I've been told, the attrition from the first year can be as high as 50%, but it's something that somewhat depends on the cohort; however, it does seem to be going down for the last couple of years. It's a bit of a gamble to put up your own money for this, but if it's clearly your best option it might be worth it. You should definitely talk about this with your advisors and not random people on an anonymous forum tho. Good luck!

Will Penn State offer any admission to Fall 21 MSCS program this year? I am waiting only for PSU's results and with the whole visa slot fiasco, I am not sure how long should I wait. Is anyone desperately waiting like me? Also does PSU offer admits for freshers
