To the previous interview posts, have you all heard anything from Comp Lit Penn State after your interview?

Track: Operations Research. No information on funding. The email said funding details would be communicated by March 15.

Was freaking out for 2 weeks because I am currently a research technologist at Penn State and every grad student in my lab found out the 2nd and 3rd week of January that they were invited for an interview. The MCIBS and BMMB programs schedule their recruitment events about two weeks earlier than the Biology program. Anyone looking to apply next year - highly recommend taking a gap year and becoming a research tech prior to applying for grad school. You will have more time to become familiar with techniques in the lab instead of feeling overwhelmed by taking classes, TAing, and then having to come into the lab to do research.

Had an interview. They mostly asked the same questions as the application form.

I was also expecting this, but I am quite disappointed! I have already received 3 rejection letters. Maybe I was not a strong enough applicant this year :( Hope to see you all next year!

Had a very informal interview three days prior. Got a notification from the graduate office by mail that I got into the university.

Invited to interview via email a week or so ago

Shortlisted. POI contacted me to update the application status, which I am not invited to the next round of interviews at this moment.

Computational Material Science 3 years of research experience, 3 research presentations, 2 years of grading thermodynamics

Admitted without interview. Chem GPA is a 3.75 with a previous BA that brought my cumulative GPA down. 1 year of undergrad research part time, 2 years of tutoring (high utilization stats DEFINITELY helped), 3 years administrative work. 1 research-based LOR, 1 academic LOR, and 2 LORs from supervisors, all strong. No publications but I'm completing an undergrad thesis. 1 internal research grant and 2 upcoming research conferences. I didn't reach out to professors in advance.
