1. Didn't take GRE 2. Had a near perfect GPA in my Master's in Data Science & a ~3.5 undergrad GPA at an Ivy League 3. Surprised bc I was the 1st author of a published paper in a selective journal 4. Maybe it's my rec letters bc aside from my main research advisor, those other rec letters didn't know me as well 5. It's their loss :)

Emailed 2 profs at Yale before applying who ghosted me 6. It's their loss :)

More of a CS background so a Stats/Data Science PhD may have been a bit out of scope!

3 Strong LORs (2 from professors, 1 from Internship mentor), 8.5 IELTS, 2 International and 1 National level Publication relevant to coursework and projects, 5 months Internship @ 2 diff companies.

Messed up the video interview, so this result did not come as a surprise.

Submitted Application before priority Deadline.

No funding provided. Is there a way I can get funding as an international student?

Didn't submit the GRE. Waited a long time to receive the decision from UPenn. Kinda disappointed at the efficiency of their Admission Office for not releasing all priority results at once, which created a lot of chaos and anxiety among applicants. Now I felt relaxed after receiving this decision. Good luck to anyone seeing this. The best is yet to come.
