- 1. Did not take the GRE 2. Had an almost perfect GPA for Master's in Data Science at HYPSM altho a medium undergrad GPA of ~3.5 at an Ivy League 3. Surprised bc I was a 1st author of a relevant published paper in a top journal 4. Maybe it's my rec letters bc aside from my research advisor, the other recommenders didn't know me as well 5. Emailed 2 profs at Yale before applying who ghosted me 6. It's their loss :)
