- 1. Didn't take GRE 2. Had a near perfect GPA in my Master's in Data Science & a ~3.5 undergrad GPA at an Ivy League 3. Surprised bc I was the 1st author of a published paper in a selective journal 4. Maybe it's my rec letters bc aside from my main research advisor, those other rec letters didn't know me as well 5. It's their loss :)
