conditional offer made for an Mphil in English!

Totally unexpected! If you're not planning on attending, please let them know- this is my only shot this cycle!

The letter reads: "Your application was in the top fifteen percent of all applications. You are currently on our waitlist." Anyone else in the same position?

GPA is MA. Text from the waitlist letter: Dear Christopher, The Graduate Studies Committee within the English Department at Washington State University has now reviewed and discussed your application for admission to the graduate program in English. At present we have made initial offers, and although final decisions have not been made for all positions, we are not able to offer you admission at this time. You application is still active, pending the opening of available spots in the program. Like most graduate schools in the U.S. we're obligated to wait for candidates' responses until April 15, according to the guidelines of the National Council of Graduate Schools. However, every year some candidates let us know earlier than that that they have made other plans, thus opening up a spot. I am sorry I can't give better, or more definitive, news, but I hope this information is helpful. If you have accepted another program's offer already and no longer wish to be considered, could you please let me know so that your application can be updated? If you would like to communicate further about the status of your application, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Sincerely, Director of Graduate Studies

Rhetoric & Composition Concentration

Recommended for master's program, which realistically I do not have the time or money to take, but at least they didn't completely stomp on my dreams and call me a loser. So I'm taking that as a win. So ends shutout season #1.

Waitlisted via email. I've already accepted an offer from another school so I told them to take my name off of the waitlist. Hopefully this frees up some space for somebody else! GPA is MA. 3a/3r/1w/2p

Received an email to check portal

Waitlisted on 1/26 - wasn't feeling very optimistic about getting off the waitlist, but I received a very kind email from the DGS this morning offering admission into the program. Overjoyed; I was rejected from this same program in my first admission cycle and this is definitely my #1. Focused on Black American lit and Black Southern geographies. Best of luck to others on the waitlist!

Please please please, if you've received an offer from this place and don't consider going, let it go. This is my only chance at the moment. 0a/7r/1w/2p

Got a very nice email early this morning. 0a/7r/4w/1p And then there was one...
