Unfortunately, your application was not chosen to proceed to acceptance. Many very qualified candidates, much like yourself, were not selected due to the limited space within the program. While we wish we could accept more, the strength of our program rests on the small faculty to student ratio that provides outstanding teaching and mentoring to our students. I understand this decision is disappointing." Oh, yes it is. $50 for the SOPHAS application and $120 for the supplemental application. This was my most expensive application. Anyhoo, congrats to all those who made it.

Admitted!! I had a pretty good recommendation letters from a U.S. Congressman and I've done five internships in my undergrad experience. Entering right out from undergrad.

Also posted that I got into the econ-only program this morning. Slightly more generous funding with the joint program. I'm not crying you're crying.

Received email that I wasn't included in the general school funding package, but that my application was favorable and would be circulated among faculty members who may have independent funding to support a PhD. Or that they would be in touch if any funding becomes available (I assume this is the waitlist part of - if someone else rejects the offer and slots are available?). Maybe this is just what they tell everyone? So somewhere between a rejection/waitlist? A bit vague, so don't know what to think to be honest.

I was interviewed on Jan 14 but rejected. Also interviewed two years ago. At that time at least I got a waitlist before the final rejection. Is there anyone who get a waitlist this year?

The materials you submitted with your application have been carefully reviewed by the admissions committee, but we are unable to offer you admission. The UC Berkeley campus has a strict enrollment ceiling, and we are thus very limited in the number of new students we may admit each year. The admissions committee has the difficult task of selecting students with the strongest overall records from a large pool of well-qualified applicants. Unfortunately, this may result in not being able to accept many applicants who are capable of excellent academic work. We appreciate the interest you have shown in UC Berkeley and wish you success in achieving your academic goals."

Accepted exactly 1 week after the interview. Did not submit a GRE score.

Any news about interviews?

Just finished this interview. Not sure of my chances. Program will accept "about half a dozen" but is contingent on funding. I have more than 5 years of research experience, with a few publications. Good luck to everyone.

2.5 years relevant work and volunteer experience. 18k scholarship divided over 3 semesters. Might need to negotiate after being given more at other schools and seeing the higher amounts given here, hmmm.
