Social Work, Columbia University New York No offer of financial aid yet. I was told to expect an email award letter by 03/15/07. They said that they give from 2 to 10 thousand per student per semester depending on need and merit. You can apply for work study and get paid for your clinical work, which you have to do anyway. This seems pretty standard for all of the programs give or take couple thousand.

Social Work, Washington University in St. Louis (WashU/WUSTL) Granted a financial award of 20,000 for two years. The top programs give a top award of about 15000 dollars per semster if you include work study, which means you get paid for your clinicals. Basically, you are looking at graduating with 30,000 worth of debt not including living expenses assuming you get awarded the full amount. There doesn't seem to be any fellowships or other sources of "free" money at any of the top five programs.

Political Science, Columbia GSAS Five rejections so far. Six applications to go. I don't know why this is happening to me?? My only problem is lowish GRE scores....but everything else should meet their qualifications. If they are just rejecting me b/c of my GRE scores that's stupid. Years and years of work....and then ONE low test score and that's it??? By the way, I have two master's degrees....so that should count for something!!
