OISE MED Developmental Psychology And Education, University Of Toronto I received a letter today from HDAP- MED in Developmental Psychology and Education (uoft) that I'm on the waitlist. I'm a little worried. Is anyone on the waitlist for this program? Has anyone been accepted from a waitlisted program before? What is the process of being accepted from a waitlisted program? I just want to know if my chances are good for getting in this fall.

Counseling Psychology, Lehigh University Graduating Summa Cum Laude and still got rejected. They took forever to notify me too, I had to call and ask. I'd probably still be waiting if I hadn't. Got into a program I wanted more, good riddance.

Educational Psychology - Measurement And Evaluation, University Of North Carolina (UNC) Chapel Hill I contacted the head of the department, and they sent email saying I'd been accepted back at the beginning of March. I sent an email two weeks ago that was forwarded to someone else, but never heard back - so I emailed somebody else. The UNC website still says "your decision is not yet available." At this late date, I accepted another program's offer. This is REALLY messed up.

Research Psychology, East Carolina University yay!! already accepted their acceptance :) so excited about my mentor and the head of the master's program/stats prof. now to figure out how to pay for everything! i had a phone interview with potential mentor, then went down to visit and see her lab and my acceptance came 2 days after visit. i think taking the initiative and visiting a potential school helps your chances—especially if it is a small school. It shows them that you are really interested in them and really want them, which is a big part and an often overlooked part of the equation! If it is physically and or financially doable, email potential mentors and heads of programs and tell them you want to come and visit and check everything out. You will look attractive to them and also you get to see if this is will be a good fit. Don’t you remember touring all those colleges with our parents for undergrad and knowing the second you walked onto campus that it wasn’t the right fit?! Not exactly the same thing, but in a similar vein.

Experimental Psychology, Old Dominion University I applied over a month and a half ago and I get an email from a professor in the department that I didnt call out in my essay/have no similar interests asking if I am still interested in their program. I paid the application fee--of course I am interested!!! So unprofessional! Just come out and say whether or not I got in. Also, obvi the professors that I did call out in my essay as having similar interests as myself didnt want to work with me, so anyone will just do!? Thanks but no thanks!! I want to go somewhere and work with people who share similar interests and have the gumption to say whether or not they are accepting new students. Luckily, I have already gotten a better offer at another school so I told them I was no longer interested

Other American Masters
Experimental Psychology, University Of North Carolina At Wilmington They were my plan G, so it is fine, but they went about it very unprofessionally. Application was due way back in Jan and I had to email several times about whether or not a decision had been made. The lady at the grad school said that yes a decision had been made and I would have to wait to log into my application in the next 25 hours (which fell on a Saturday) to see the results. Well DUH from that response I obvi knew what the decision was going to be. Just come out and say it!!
