Gender, Feminist, And Womens Studies, York University GPA is grad school. I had been in contact with the graduate coordinator. She had told me earlier in the week they were impressed with my application, but they only had two VISA spots (as I'm American). I was notified tonight that I was not selected and she suggested I re-apply next year.

Womens, Gender, And Sexuality Studies, Rutgers University-New Brunswick GPA is for grad school. They didn't even send an e-mail saying I was rejected. It was just posted on the portal. I only knew this because of the Gender/Feminist Studies thread when other people randomly checked the portal. You would think they could have at least given us an email. The rejection was barely a sentence.

Public Health, Sociomedical Sciences, Columbia University Applied under the Sociology concentration and the Gender, Sexuality, and Health fellowship. Received a personal email from POI as well as acceptance letter through admissions portal (though I didn't get an email notification for the letter, had to check it myself). Heads up for future applicants that this program is VERY selective and funding seems limited to the topic-specific fellowships/grants they offer, so definitely read about the admissions criteria and fellowships to make sure your time applying is worthwhile!

February 2022

Comparative Literature And Gender Studies, University College London 4.2 Master's GPA, 3 publications So, I was emailed in late January that they were interested in an interview. Unfortunately, I had Covid at the time so I was allowed to postpone by a fortnight. That's one of the reasons why UCL was at the top of my list--the staff's kindness, openness, leniency, and willingness to help. A few days before the interview I contracted the flu and had to interview with a lot of sickness and very little preparation. The interview felt slightly interrogative, but it could've been that I was feverish and sleepy (7 am interview). Although I was confident in my previous work and passionate about my proposal, I feel I could've been better prepared had it not been for my post-viral brain fog and fever. I stumbled a bit over questions pertaining to the literature's interdisciplinarity and the temporality of my project. Therefore, prepare to recall your past research experience, an outline of your proposed research, and the ins and outs of its institutional, academic, and subjective relevance. Regardless, I did the best I situationally could and ultimately convinced them of the importance of my research! With funding (cosmos and perceived aptitude willing), I'll be attending UCL in the autumn. Best of luck, all--you've got this!:)
