Hands shaking and heart racing, I saw the congratulations. Happy to be going to graduate school. Peace Corps background in the environment. Long history of interest in the environment.

NREM-MEM, University Of Hawaii - Manoa Received an email about applying for a TA position. Contacted and was emailed a copy of my acceptance letter. Worried because the deadline to accept admission is the end of February, which is before I will have heard back from a number of other programs. No word on funding.

Nicholas School Of The Environment, Duke University Duke is super generous with aid (30k+/year)! Poor kid like me can actually afford to go there and get one of the best educations out there. Very glad I applied to the MEM program and will be going for sure!

Environmental Management (MEM), Yale University, School Of Forestry And Environmental Studies (FES) 50% financial aid for tuition. Below average GRE quant. score and average undergrad GPA. But very strong recommendations, 4 years work experience in management consulting and policy research, focused personal statement (clear link between undergrad, work exp, potential specialisation, and professional goals).

Environmental Management (MEM) ESC, Masters (F19), Duke University, Nicholas School Of The Environmental Applied early by Dec 15. Grades not amazing but lots of work experience since 2nd year of undergrad, good recommendations, lots of presentations at conferences, and press releases. Resident in VT/NH during application. Went to open house and had a follow up phone call with my concentration coordinator.

Environmental Management (MEM), Yale School Of Forestry & Environmental Studies (FES) Accepted with 50% tuition, Going to a similar program at Duke-Nicholas with 25% funding. MEM at Yale FES is pretty weak. It accepts better (read: older) candidates than Nicholas but has similar employment outcomes. Friends at MEM-FES sound so disappointed.
