  • TPB: I emailed them about the GCF, reply: maybe can upgrade in summer, not guarantee. So I think it is impossible to get it before Apr 15, but maybe have oppotunity to get it after accepting it.

SUNY AlbanyEconomics, PhD (F20)Wait listed via E-mail on 1 Apr 2020 31 Mar 2020
  • if you guys have better offers or do not want to attend, please decline. It is my last hope.
George Washington University (GWU)Economics, PhD (F20)Accepted via Website on 31 Mar 2020 U31 Mar 2020
  • TPB: Although GWU is the only one admission I received from 20 applications, with no funding and the uncertainty to get funding in subsequent years, I would like to decline it and try to find a job instead. Due to the COVID-19, I think the funding decision will harder than before and there is no signal that all university will start their Fall semester normally.
University Of Californa, Los Angeles (UCLA)Economics, PhD (F20)Other via POST on 1 Apr 2020 31 Mar 2020
  • They once told me they would let all of us know by the end of March, but that was long ago. Maybe things have changed due to the virus? (I thought they would work more efficiently at home, but apparently that's not the case)
Washington University In St. Louis (WashU/WUSTL)Economics, PhD (F20)Accepted via E-mail on 31 Mar 2020 I31 Mar 2020

University Of Californa, Los Angeles (UCLA)Economics, PhD (F20)Other via Other on 31 Mar 2020 O31 Mar 2020
  • TPB: totally agreed! Completely disrespectful. If someone else but the ones who already posted here knows something from them, please share! It seems they don't even give a damn to us. Would've sent at least an email indicating that final decisions would be released in X days if they did - no substantial cost in doing that.

University Of Californa, Los Angeles (UCLA)Economics, PhD (F20)Other via Other on 31 Mar 2020 U31 Mar 2020
  • How come UCLA already completed 4 whole months holding applications and have only sent so few notifications to applicants? Quite disrespectful considering their USD140.00 fee and early application deadlines. It causes so much uncertainty and anxiety...

George Washington University (GWU)Economics, PhD (F20)Accepted via Website on 31 Mar 2020 O31 Mar 2020
  • The Professor told us there are some students do not have fundings for five years. Only with straight A and pass the qualify exam in first year can get funding in the second year and also not guarantee for the third year. Tuition is not waived. I will decline this program. No funding guarantee for my PhD life. I do not want to take risks. Also this is 5 or 6 years program. I can hardly imagine 5 years without funding and need to pay tuition, health insurance and high living expenses.
