Economics, University Of Cambridge Diploma program. Conditional offer on completing my current undergrad with a certain GPA. Also have offer from LSE. Despite the fact that Cambridge has an overall higher brand name than LSE, but given that I'm overseas and that the tuition difference is "only" about GBP1,000, I'm more inclined to stick with LSE (in fact, I've already accepted).

Economics, University Of Cambridge It is all fault of the econ. admission secretary as she asked my mid term marks planned to come out after one month.I replied(at 09.00 am) that formally my application was full and at 16.00pm I was rejected formally by an official email. The Add com is composed by 5 members. It is impossible to get them all together at the same day.I believe she did not even present my application to the Admission Board! And guess what!I was a discussant in a conference organized by the econ. faculty in 2007 .Now I am invited in another conference by them. I will decently have a world on that with the Research Director(Sean Holly)

English, New York University (NYU) In answer to the question about what I did differently, the second time around I had a lot more contact with members of the faculty. I also made certain I was au fait with the kind of SOP they required. Anyway, I need someone's advice. I'm British, went to Oxford, and now have to choose between Cambridge and NYU for my English PhD. Cambridge isn't funded... Where should I go? New York beckons, but I'm torn. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated.
