  • I didn't get offer for fall 2020 and I wasn't rejected as well. Therefore, my professor told me to reapply and I do. I didn't have to pay application fee and no need to send docu*ents as all were same as earlier. I am hoping that I will get the offer for spring 2021. What is my chance? Is anybody in the same situation?

University Of Texas At AustinPhysics, PhD (F20)Other via Other on 19 May 2020 O19 May 2020
  • TO the post for UT Austin. I dont specifically know about UT Austin but one of the schools I talked with have halted all new offers and they are waiting for a decision from the higher ranks of the university to see if they will offer new positions or not. since it is not clear what the status of classes will be for fall 2020 schools are reluctant to offer. so when it says your application is under review means the school still has empty spaces to offer according to their initial capacity, however due to COVID-19 they are not certain if they will offer them. there is a slim chance you will start hearing about new offers in July but as I said the chances are slim. it doesnt mean your not qualified. unfortunately this year due to coronavirus the number of admissions offered is substantially less than previous years.many school have only sufficed to the positions they offered early (before the lockdown)
