Maybe because of less research work (1 year) in the field I applied in. Profile: 1 Publication in progress, 4 Research Experiences (1 full year experience), Class Rank 1, Lot of Community Services and Social Work, TA for 2 courses. Chemical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) Generic rejection email. Was expecting this, congrats to everyone who got in!! Did around 3 years of research with 2 publications from it, also a few presentation awards and other ECs. I don't think my essays were that strong and also my grades in my ChemE coursework were subpar. Good luck to all!

Chemical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) Got the call today! Two weeks after the interview. Said letter coming within a day or two. Stats: 3 yrs of extensive research, 6 publications (incl. journal articles, conference proceedings and book chapters) and 1 manuscript under progress.
