Graduate School Admission Results

I am writing to let you know that the Department of Economics Ph.D. Admissions Committee has reviewed your application for admission. Ms. Mirtha Cabello, Ph.D. Program Administrator, has informed the Economics Master's Program that they are unfortunately unable to recommend you be admitted to their program. Please contact her directly if you have any questions at cabello@bu.edu . Per the Ph.D. program policy, some students with high academic qualifications who were not considered for admission are automatically considered for a master's degree, and many have accepted our offer and end up coming to Boston University.

Not interview. Does anyone know what happened to UCL? They send some rejections ten days ago, and nobody hear anything back since then? It seems unprecedented comparing with previous years. I receieved an email notifying that we will not get any feedback in the next two weeks after the deadline in Jan 14th, but today is the sixth week! Did anyone ask them about it?

I sent an inquiry email to the director the day before yesterday afternoon and received a rejection letter this morning. But my portal has no change, still pending and under review. My rejection notification email has a line: Notification of Admissions Decision for [my name], and then is regular rejection letter. 400 applications this year for only 15 available slots. I think the decision is done. Just my guess, those who did not receive an acceptance, waitlist or rejection. If you ask, you may be told in advance. I only have one waitlist, sad. But good luck for your guys.

Heartbreaking.

Removed from the waitlist - The admission committee met yesterday evening and shortened the waitlist after receiving a larger than expected yield rate. Good luck to everyone still on the waitlist.
