Last night I had a horrible panic attack. The uncertainty, the waiting, the expectations. I know it is tough for all of us. Just a reminder that amidst everything all this chaos we are going to be fine. For now, take a deep breath! We are in this together!

Really appreciating how transparent Stockholm University was about their admissions process now (even if it was a little weird). Giving us exact numbers for offers they sent out, how many accepted them etc. These US universities are killing me, I don't understand why they can't reveal where in the waitlist I am, not even an approximate. God bless the Swedes

Can you guys please stop trolling? The admin person at Duke said no one yet received any offer from the waitlist, and NYU said the second round of offers will go out on April 10th. What do you have to gain by being like this? We are all super anxious and this is the last thing we need.

I'm not entirely certain why we don't already do this, but it would be especially helpful for those on waitlists if the people who list the abundance of offers which they decline also listed which offer they accepted. I'm sure this is a little taboo, and people may not always know which offer they will accept upon declining others, but I'm also sure that is not always the case. Just a thought, not trying to be a jerk. :)

Fellow economists, remember it's up to us how fast the waitlists move. You can always keep the best 2-3 schools you have dominating offers from, especially in a year like this we all could need a waitlist or acceptance notification before April. Hang in there!

This is my fourth waitlist, with no offer!! Please mind people like me and don't keep offers if you don't want to accept them. It's a terrible year... 0a/4w/8r/2ir/5p

This seems to be a mistake that a lot of people make. You need to select programs that fit your research interests, not just the best programs. Get advice from current and recent PhDs to get a sense of what worked best for them and apply that knowledge to your process. You'll find that even a back up program that is “worse” might not accept you if your interests are not a good fit for the program.

I feel terrible guys:(( I can't understand it because last year some of my friends got admission from these universities and it seemed my application package was better than them. I wish I could back in the time and apply for some less competitive programs.
