Mathematics, University Of Utah I genuinely plead those who have received offers from Utah but may not be considering acceptance, to kindly decline, as Utah holds special significance for me in pursuing my passion for probability. I sincerely hope that all individuals are able to achieve their dreams.

English, Texas A&M University - College Station (TAMU) UPDATE: "Thank you for your continued interest in the Ph.D. program in the Department of English at Texas A&M. Unfortunately, we will not be able to admit anyone from our waitlist this year. We wish you all the best in your continued pursuits." The program made 13 offers and had 6 applicants on the waitlist.

History, All To all applicants. Unis are having a difficult time taking people from the waitlist because they receive too few responses from the admitted students. The DGS I contacted said almost nobody got back with a solid response when I contacted her in mid-March. To quote from another post -- "I understand that the people holding onto their offers are waiting to hear back but this in turn is holding back the entire admissions process by giving less time for second-round offers and hurting other waitlisted applicants. We are at a stalemate. The only resolution is to drop the schools you KNOW you would not attend. Weigh your odds with your reach schools but try to decline some if you can. This will finally start moving the waitlist and in turn, you WILL hear back from your waitlisted schools. It's either we all cooperate and hear some good news or we don't and nobody gets into any of their waitlisted schools."

Physics, Ohio State University I was wondering if anyone else got this email and if they've heard anything since then:
"I am writing to inform you that we have made our initial round of admissions decisions for admission starting Autumn 2023. While your application is very strong, we cannot offer you admission into The Ohio State University Physics Graduate Program at this time. However, we would like to keep you (and a small number of other highly qualified applicants) on our Waiting List. We had many applications for just a few positions this year, and could not offer admission to all highly qualified students during our first round of offers.
In mid-April, just before the April 15th deadline, we will be able to better determine if we are able to make additional offers for this year. Please let us know if you would like to remain on our waiting list or if you have any other questions.
I wish you the best in your future graduate studies."

Mathematics, All Schools This is a message for all applicants. Based on my own personal contact with grad programs and from multiple forums, the vast majority of schools are having a difficult time sending second-round offers because far too many people are holding onto their offers. To give some examples, Ohio has said that only a third of their admitted/waitlisted students have responded while my alma mater's waitlist has not budged since February. I understand that the people holding onto their offers are waiting to hear back but this in turn is holding back the entire admissions process by giving less time for second-round offers and hurting other waitlisted applicants. We are at a stalemate. The only resolution is to drop the schools you KNOW you would not attend. Weigh your odds with your reach schools but try to decline some if you can. This will finally start moving the waitlist and in turn, you WILL hear back from your waitlisted schools. It's either we all cooperate and hear some good news or we don't and nobody gets into any of their waitlisted schools. The choice is yours.

Mathema, Central Michigan University I have accepted in this school but I haven't heard about the funding decision as well. Grad Coordinator told be that mine one in 2nd waiting list and they are having only 3 available positions for funding and they have provided 15 admits. So, I am assuming my rank will be somewhere in between 6 to 9 in waiting list. So, I am requesting you all if you don't want to go there please inform to the graduate coordinator ASAP so that I can start my PhD journey as this is my last hope!!!

Geography, University Of Montana So this decision took 10 weeks, even after I had contacted them a month ago asking for an update. Honestly I’m glad I did not get in. Faculty and program director were completely unresponsive to emails. An email I sent in October finally got a response in March (after I had submitted my application in January) and the response was frankly very rude, telling me flaws in my application and that I should probably look for a different type of program. Not to have an ego, but I got into all my other schools which are all ranked incredibly high in comparison to Montana, yet Montana faculty thought that my application was not very strong and told me what I should do if I wanted to apply to programs in the future. I don’t know about other programs but honestly good riddance to the Geography department at Montana. It’s a shame because it was my top school for the longest time before they completely ghosted me and my application

Philosophy, Harvard University Recieved a fax from Harvard, they told me my application was incorrectly flagged as a rejection. This is the happiest that I’ve ever been this week. When I saw the Harvard Letterhead, I began to weep—the stogie that I had previously lit and left unattended had filled the room with a rolling smoke, causing the aforementioned tears. I could barely see through the smoke to make out the typeface that Harvard uses. EB Garamond—typical. Most people don’t take the time to notice these kinds of things, but when you get as many acceptances as I do, you begin to appreciate the small stuff. I don’t plan on accepting anytime soon—I have a meaty handful of acceptances, and I’ve got my pudgie little fingers in a handful of waitlists. I plan on using them all as leverage so I can get Harvard to reimburse me for the cost of moving my man-servant to Cambridge.
Has anyone heard from Rice?
