Recent Graduate Admission Results March 2010
Anthropology (Linguistic), U Of Michigan (Ann Arbor) I have emailed the dept. secretary twice in 2 weeks for the result and got NO RESPONSE like my emails have vaporized and gone. Their admission secretary JESSICA GREENWALD seems quite arrogant to me for ignoring my emails. She could at least reply and tell me to wait for a couple of days. It's her job to take care of all applicants' emails and questions. I got the rejection mail today via USPS...the stamp on it showed that the mail was sent last Friday (Mar 5). I'm glad to know the result today so that I can reply to my other dream school now.

Communication, Culture And Technology, Georgetown University You will receive official notification via mail from the Graduate School, pending a final review of all your admission requirements. The official notification will also provide more details about scholarship consideration.

English (Literary Studies), Cornell University Poster below: I didnt ask about waitlists but the question that I posed concerned whether ALL of the admissions decisions had been made and the answer that I received was that they had. (BTW, I called on Friday, not today.)

Computer Science, North Carolina State University (NCSU) My status on Apply Yourself hasn't changed for almost 2 months. If the poster who said NCSU has sent out all decision is true, I'm probably rejected without any notification due to my unqualified TOEFL sub section score.

Rhetoric and Composition, University Of Nebraska, Lincoln Many of you received personal email. My status was only updated with graduate school and department, but I have not received a personal email from the department yet. Hopefully, funding will come if I qualify in the email letter. Did all of you who were accepted receive an email from the department too yet?

Philosophy, Washington University in St. Louis (WashU/WUSTL) 141 total applicants, looks like the top 30 were either wait-listed or accepted. They offer all accepted students 6 years of funding, with no teaching duties the 1st or 5th years. Congrats to all those who've been accepted. I hope you all get into better schools.

Urban Education, Yale University First rejection. Not surprising, but after going all the way out there to interview with them it was kind of cold to get an automated email telling me to check the website.

English, Brown University email directing to website. Again - expected but still.... (no, they are not getting another app next year. not a really good fit despite the family connections :) ) To all accepted, congrats! Brown is an amazing school, and Providence kicks ass :)

English, New York University (NYU) I was at the open house. NYU is apparently doing "rolling acceptances"--so I imagine, they're only accepting as many people as they have slots (rumored: 9) and will make additional offers as people decline. So to my fellow NYU acceptees, do take all the time you need, but notify as soon as you know! I think that they're only making offers to those invited to the open house, but I could be wrong.
