  • Congratulations to people who got admission during this tough season. But if you have accepted the offer and plan to go, please decline offers and withdraw applications as soon as possible, especially for some schools that have not processed their second round offers. Lots of people still wait for the first admission at this moment, and declining other offers would not change your decision and career plan. Application fee is the sunk cost now, it should not influence your current decision. Thanks!

  • To posters below: I haven't also heard from this school. It's so funny, I have received admissions, rejections, waitlists, rejections from waitlists; I went to virtual open houses, accepted an admission and rejected some others. The national deadline has passed and STILL there's no news from UNC - not that it's a perfect program or it even dominates the other schools I got admitted to, but it's super disrespectful to us as applicants who took time to fill out their forms AND PAID $95 OF APPLICATION FEE that they didn't get back to us yet - as of 4/19/20.

  • I heard that they already sent their admission to initial groups, and if the slot remains after the first round, the chance will be available at other round. But, they said that it might take until late in the spring to have final decisions. In addition, It is possible that their slot alreday became full. (You may ask additional process to Graduate Program Coordinator, Rosann Fitzgerald.) Good luck!

  • TTPB, I was rejected, I asked the professor that I was talking with and had an interview with. He told me that he has no positions available anymore and they, usually, only accept 15-20% of the applicants every year, this year they accepted 18% of the applicants. That is why I am going to Illinois because I do have funding there! Good Luck to you all!
