  • TPsB: My inclination is that they aren't processing in order of receipt of the application, but rather are holding successive meetings to agree on a handful of people to reject each time, until they reach the target number of admits.
London School Of EconomicsEconomics, PhD (F20)Other via Other on 21 Feb 2020 I21 Feb 2020
  • TPB: It is likely, but still uncertain. I don't know anyone in such situation. I submitted by application by 10 December, 2 days before the deadline, and received the rejection last Monday. My friends who applied just a bit later got the rejection message on Tuesday and Wednesday. The ones who submitted by the deadline got it today earlier. Based on that, if you applied early and no rejection yet, I would say your chances are probably higher, but still hard to infer anything crystal clear from that.

  • TPB: Are acceptances still coming out for Cornell? Or is it an implicit reject at this point?
Michigan State UniversitynEconomics, PhD (F20)Other via Other on 21 Feb 2020 O21 Feb 2020
  • TPB; I don’t think it is necessary to send the hard copy transcript. I emailed the Econ dept and they said it is only foe admitted students. I asl got interview one month ago without mailing hard copy transcripts.

  • TPB: If the app status changed from "under consideration" to "we are aware your app is still under consideration" for a while now, and I applied early, would that be possible of surviving the rejection wave?
London School Of Economics & Political Science (LSE)Economics, PhD (F20)Other via Other on 21 Feb 2020 O21 Feb 2020
  • TPB: They are likely rejecting people in rolling windows. The earlier you applied, the earlier you get rejected, if that's the case. People I know who applied a few days before the deadline have already got rejected. People who applied by the deadline have the "under consideration" status. Good luck! :D

  • Does anybody have any idea of how LSE is making rejections in waves?
