Materials Science And Engineering, University Of Washington, Seattle If I hadn't been accepted to Stony Brook I would probably get depressed immediately. I am still waiting for the ASU, Gatech and Maryland. Though the denial at UW was somehow expected due to their financial crisis.

Materials Science & Engineering (MSE), University Of Washington - Seattle (UW) I got the rejection email in 11/3 and then emailed to the coordinator to ask about the detailed reasons of rejection.This is what she replied to me: "We had 290 applications and have space and funding for about 10-12 new students. Since nearly all the applicants have met the stated minimum requirements, the faculty have had to make some difficult decisions. Part of the result of losing much State of WA support over the last several years is the absence of regular and consistent funding to support new international students as required for a visa; so they are the hardest hit by current financial conditions at this university and many others." So they do have problems with funding like I have heard before. Last question: Do any international student get accepted with funding into this program this year? Or do you know any international student who gets it?
