Graduate School Admission Results

Wait-listed for PhD and accepted to MS program. I have published a first author conference paper a have one second author journal paper in review. One research internship at governmental lab and one industry internship. I had expected a reject from the PhD program and acceptance to the MS program so this is better than expected.

hmm. I've been constantly checking SPIRE for the past few days. The status of my application changed to 'Update Pending' on 28th, and I think it just changed once again to 'Accepted' around midnight. But there's no hyperlink to decision letter or anything. I'm a bit puzzled about how the whole SPIRE system works lol

Got an accept via mail but unable to view status change on spire.umass.edu. Is anyone else facing issues logging in?

I got a mail stating that the decision was updated on spire. But the status on spire says "update pending". Anyone else have a similar situation?

It says status updated on email, but it shows "Update Pending" in SPIRE page. No idea what it means.

Has anyone had to do an interview for the Center for Information and Computer Sciences? I got a request for an interview as an M.S. applicant to discuss my interests, does anyone know what I should expect?

I had applied for the MS/PhD program and my "Graduate Application Center" shows my status as accepted along with an explanation for acceptance. However I'm unable to figure out where the student center is(where we have to accept/reject the offer). I'm also unable to figure out if the accept is for PhD or MS. Those who have received offers from UMass, did you also receive a formal decision letter somewhere? Also please could you guide me on how you reached the student center? Is the interface different for different students?

Very nice email sent out today by DGS. Quite a reasonable funding package offered an invitation to open house.

Does UMass send similar mails to all applicants for reject and accept? In the same situation as the posters below.

Same here. Mine still f u c k ing under review. I am well-prepared for receiving general rejection in April :'(

TTPB: it means your decision will be out in 1-2 days, accept or reject as I see from previous posts. Maybe reject since many admits are already out? Idk not sure at this point.

Bloody losers. Mailed them on Friday and till yesterday they kept saying we are still reviewing profiles. Today suddenly the portal has a "decision letter" which is a rejection. F**K off
