Non-CS background, 2yrs experience as an ML Engineer

To the MSE posters below: What time did u receive the mails? I have't received any response yet. Also, which International Univs are you from?

8.45/10 CGPA from BITS (India) / 1xJournal Publication + 2xGSoC + 2xInternational Conference and an off-campus thesis abroad. Yet rejection was only a matter of time from the outset u_u

Received an email from a professor (not listed on SOP) requesting for a skype interview to occur this weekend. Area: AI/ML

As expected, but still sad.. haha

Received unofficial email. Haven't received official email yet - has anyone else received one?

Phone call from POI shortly followed by official email with funding details. Area is theory.

Keep fingers crossed guys. This is the message I see in the checklist: PhD and MS applications are being reviewed. Most PhD decisions have been made, if you have not received yours, please be patient a little longer while the faculty finish their review. No external MS decisions have been made, only internal coterminal decisions. We hope to have the external MS decisions by March 8th.

Email to check website. Fit was poor anyway. There is no shame in not getting into Stanford.

applied HCP program and received rejected email. didn't think it is so competitive even for part time program. dream school and plan to apply for next year.

High GPA, high scores, lot of research experience with 2 research internships at top research labs in the world, multiple publications including one at an A* conference. Don't know what else I could've done, disappointed. Maybe there is no substitute for going to a top UG school..
