Applied to DD, rejected for both, DD and MSc.

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, One-year Master in Computer Science (Conversion degree). Four years of work experience as SWE. I have no research experience outside of my dissertation and no publications. No GRE (The admission office mentioned that GRE scores will not be considered nor reviewed for applications to the MSc in Computer Science)

Graduated with a BSc in Computer Science from a Greek University, 8+/10. I cannot be certain about my LoRs, but had a decent SoP and some research experience (no papers). Also no GRE.

Rejected, got email to check the portal

Rejected from Direct Doctorate, accepted to MS. Portal changed from DD to MS almost a week ago. International student, doing my undergrad at a US university. GPA 3.865, TOEFL 118. No previous industry internship but a few undergrad research experiences plus one conference paper. 2 LoRs from profs who supervised/mentored my research.

Accepted to the MSc Computer Science programme, Undergrad from India, non-IIT/NIT, 3 A* publications, LOR from a famous prof in the field, 1.5 years of experience, 1 year of Research Assistant at a foreign lab, 0.5 years at a leading car company

MSc from top uni in Europe with a good GPA, first-author publication at a top-tier venue, research internship experience, and SWE internship at a renowned tech company. I reached out to the PI during the fall and had an interview back then. After a while, I was asked to have my recommenders send a letter of recommendation. Area: ML/Security.

Italian student from Politecnico di Milano. Few research experience, but high GPA, good LOR and previous experience as Teaching Assistant

BSc Computer Science from KCL. Expected First with Honours. GRE: 166Q/159V. Research experience over the summer; worked as a Teaching Assistant for 3 courses.

Currently finishing BSc CS at an average German University (QS-Ranking 200-250). High preliminary GPA (1.1 where 1 is best and 4 is minimum pass grade). GRE 169(Q)/160(V)/4.0(AW). IELTS 8/9. Finished one semester faster than standard duration of studies. Some research experience from writing the thesis (worth 6+12 ECTS) and a 2 week research internship during high school. Some related professional experience as a student employee (4h/week).
