I regret to inform you that we are unable to admit you to the Ph.D. Program in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. Due to the large number of applications we receive we are unable to provide individualized feedback on your application. The Computer Science Department received over 1700 applications this year, and our program can support only a small number of new students. Unfortunately, this means that there were many highly qualified applicants we could not admit to our program. If you have applied to more than one program within the School of Computer Science, you will hear from each program individually. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Engineering and public policy. Rejected after 4 months of waiting

My profile is as follows:- Academics:-- B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from an old IIT- GPA: 9.02/10 (with full grades in Networks, ML, DSA, DBMS)- Minor in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Experience:-- SDE internship experience at a top Silicon Valley data backup and cybersecurity startup (in their India office) for three months (got a PPO offer for full-time)- Research intern at CMU (remotely) for the past one and a half years (working on Video-based Deep learning)- 1 paper draft from the above experience (will be submitted to A* conference later this year)- Research Intern at UNSW Sydney for three months (graph theory and bioinformatics, no paper)- Ongoing Bachelors Thesis in the field of Hardware Security and Networks (will have a draft by the time of applications) Projects:-- Multiple course projects on OS, Networks, VR, Compilers, Sensors- Two good quality projects from Inter-IIT Tech meet participation (Silver medal in one of them)- A couple of projects from hackathons (one by Flipkart and one institute-level where we won first prize) Extracurriculars:-- Was the Secretary of the Coding Club of my institute- Inter-IIT Quizzing GRE:-- 331 (161 V, 170 Q) TOEFL:- 119
