Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University Got an admission from Chris Dyer for the NLP group. Was in contact for the past 2 months. Although he is not taking any students, he made an exception.

Material Science And Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University I have not heard from Northwestern yet. I emailed them yesterday and they wrote back to me saying that they haven't made all the offers yet as of 22nd march. Have you guys heard from NU yet? so anxious.. the decisions are quite late compared to previous years.

Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University Waitlisted for MSML. Received the rejection today: "I regret to inform you that we are unable to admit you to the Master of Science in Machine Learning program at Carnegie Mellon University. As indicated in my previous emails, your application was very strong and we reached this decision due to our program being capped at just 35 students out of an applicant pool of over 1200. Our yield this year was higher than usual and so we were unfortunately not able to admit anyone from our waitlist. Thank you again for your patience, understanding, and assistance during the long admissions process, and once again, we are sorry you were not included in the admitted students. We wish you the best in your future endeavors."

Computational Data Science, Carnegie Mellon University Excited, 1st admit after 6 rejections. 2 pubs, 2 relevant internships, strong SOP (according to editors), and 3 strong LORs (according to writers). Felt like a bit of a mountain coming from a non-CS undergrad, but I apparently did enough to overcome that.

Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University IR2 from mid tier IIT. 2 research internships (universities), one of them international. 1 conference paper (A) and 2 journals under submission. Best bachelors Thesis, ACM ICPC Regionals, SIH win. 1.5y work exp ~FAANG. CMU MSCS is extremely competitive, and they don't necessarily look for research so don't make yourself sound like a PhD candidate. Apply to MSML or MCDS which are easier to get in, or MSE if you have a weaker profile but definitely want to get in.

Materials Science And Engineering, Northwestern University For this program, I have received decisions from two grad school(UCB and Illinois-UC). But I am yet to hear from other schools like Northwestern, University of Minnesota, and Carnegie Mellon. How about everyone in this forum? what is your status? Are you also waiting for the decisions to be posted? I am not sure if I have any chances either...
