  • Had a lower GRE score than some more than likely (297), but do have a Masters in ABA with a 3.8 GPA, extensive clinical practicu* work and research. My scope of interest/ speciality did not really sync with faculty that were taking in students in the upcoming cohort, so I am ok that I was not accepted. Best of luck to those still trying to get in though! Generated email included the following: Dear Candidate: Please accept my deepest appreciation for your application to Clinical Psychology doctoral program. This year we reviewed 174 applications. Our faculty are always impressed by the quality of a large number of applicants and struggle with making very fine distinctions among worthy future professionals. We evaluate all aspects of a candidate’s dossier - standardized test scores, GPAs, letters of recommendation, statements of intent and interest, CVs, writing samples, etc. With this information, we determine, to the best of our ability, which candidates would flourish and “fit” the best in our program, given our current resources. Indeed, due to the nature of a scientist-practitioner training model that values apprenticeship, we must carefully select a few students to consider further. This year, we will interview around 30 applicants, with an ultimate goal of having an incoming class of from four to six students. We must painfully put aside dozens of students who will ultimately represent and shape the future of our profession. Unfortunately, we were unable to include you in the group of applicants selected for an interview and you are no longer being considered for admission to the program. We cannot provide you with individual feedback regarding the basis of our decision about your application. However, please be assured that, on behalf of the clinical faculty, I wish you much success in your future professional pursuits. Sincerely, Christopher Correia, Ph.D. Alumni Professor & Director of Clinical Training
