Graduate School Admission Results

I saw the two admits below since this is the last school i'm waiting on, called up. They said that notifications/or phone calls should be happening today/tomorrow

Call from POI, full funding! so excited!!

email from POI said to expect 5 years full funding. Total shock because others on gradcafe had been contacted for an interview over the past couple weeks and I wasn't. Moral of the story: Be careful with assumptions.

Have MPA. Offered 4 year funding with Grinter Fellowship "Top Off" years 1-3 and Dauer Fellowship "Top Off" year 4. $13,000/year for assistantship, $2,000/yr for fellowship.

Also asked if I'd accepted other offers and told I was on the "long short list" (as below).

Email saying I was on the "long short list" and asking if I had already accepted any other offers.

Slightly annoyed by the use of the word 'demonstrated' but whatever. "On behalf of The Graduate School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I offer my sincere appreciation for your demonstrated interest in pursuing graduate studies at the University. Your application for admission has now been reviewed by the faculty of Political Science. My colleagues in The Graduate School and I regret that it will not be possible to offer you admission."
