Interviews went fantastic, but was rejected in favor of multiple less qualified candidates. Why? Because I am 40 and not a minority. One professor even said to me that my age "definitely matters, even though it shouldn't." Keep in mind that these are *supposed* to be professional sociologists – the last group of people you would expect to engage in any kind of discrimination. I have never been so furious in my entire life. Shame on them.
