Got an email saying congrats. Had 6 publications, 2 of which were first-author & 2 REU programs. I had 3 very strong LORs. I also did a ton of teaching and outreach during my undergrad.

Ignore interview, anyone heard from them?

Got an email to check the portal. Applied to groups working on galaxies. International student (BS Physics) in a very well-recognized US university. No GRE or pGRE. 3+ years of research experience. One first-author paper about to be submitted, one second-author ApJ paper. AAS Medal. Lots of leadership and outreach experience (idk if they cared about this but they asked about it in the interview). Got a rec letter from someone on the UChicago admissions committee. All 3 of my rec letters were likely great. VERY HAPPY ABOUT THIS! MY VERY FIRST ACCEPTANCE! I can finally breathe now

Email informing me of acceptance, still awaiting funding of course. Currently doing my Master's here so I am not sure if this caused me to get earlier results.

I notified via email to check my application status. (three refereed publications; two of them as the lead author | two lead author papers in preparation.)

Informed via email to check portal. Was told more than 400 applicants are competing for the positions. I got one rec letter from a prof at this department. I really love UChicago!!!!Thank you guys.. I guess I can withdraw all other applications. 1st author pub in computer science submitted, 2 second-author(one in particle physics) pub under review by decent journal, 2 n-th pubs accepted(all in particle physcis). But I apply to exoplanets (a big transition huh. )
