Graduate School Admission Results

- was told that a decision would be made this week in my case, but some immediately received a decision after being interviewed

Second conversation with the same professor who I spoke to last time (Theory). Reason for the call was to talk about future plans and funding. Wanted to find out if I would be able to join them this year or not (have plans to defer by a year) and where Berkeley was in my preference list of schools. Turns out admits can be deferred but not fellowship offers and the internal situation with funding is complicated. Am optimistic about an admit :)

havent been rejected yet neither had any communication with them, but I know I will be rejected from there, so why should I leave it for later? :)

2nd interview

Applied in theory. General discussion about future plans, interests, etc;

Phone interview with PI from graphics group on 01/07/11. I initially contacted the PI by email. Undergrad/Master's GPA 3.37/3.85 both from 2nd-tier public research university in Canada. 1 first author publication at international conference, 1 third author publication at international journal, 3 oral presentations at international conferences, 2 posters at international conferences, credited in 1 video game, 1 US patent application submitted.

UCB will miss me, and I will miss it :(
