Graduate School Admission Results

I mailed the grad staff, apparently all the decisions have been sent out and it is unlikely that we will receive an admit now.

ttpb: did you have an interview? If so, when? Can you mention your area/initials of your professor?

TTPB: Ranking, reputation, alumni network, location and career wise, Purdue any day over UC Davis.

Can someone tell me when will they announce most of the results and why are they sending out so low decisions at a time?

Received an offer from the NW campus.

Did anyone get an informal letter of admission from prof? Is it possible to get admitted without notification from the prof?

Ignore waitlist. TTPB: I'm in the same situation, haven't received either a rejection or an admit yet. I think the portal people are mentioning is the same static portal with the application checklist. In other schools, when there's an update on your application and they send you the email with the link to the same application portal, the "update available" link (or smth similar) appears above the application checklist, you can click on that and see your decision.

Accepted for the Fall semester. No funding information was detailed. 2a/0w/5r/4p

The application status only mentions PhD rejected but I have also selected option to be considered for MS. Any idea when we would get those?? It has been 4 months, when would we get the results!

My undergrad school, no surprise, also a safe school.

Got noticed through email, no surprise it's my safe school.

NYU Courant, GPA 8.08/10, MBA 8.47/10, IEEE second author, SCI Journal first author, Research Internship from Europe.

Got my second admission and one that I can take. As I stated just below (in OSU admission) the same Lacey Siefers of Purdue who said I have not got admission writes stating "I am excited to inform you that the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University is recommending you for admission to the MS program beginning fall 2021. You will receive your admission message from the Graduate School through the electronic application system in a few days. " So for those who ask these schools whether they have been rejected, they simply state that you are not in accepted pool, so must be reject, but later like me can get the admit as the many applications including yours might be in processing. SO UNTIL YOU GET A REJECT ONE SHOULD WAIT. Also in my case, much against my dad's advice I chose to apply well in advance and so Purdue was my first application on Oct 15 followed by OSU in a few more days. I get Purdue almost a month after the first round. My third application in end Oct was UCSD and I am assuming I might again get it. EVERYTHING seems to be LIFO and not FIFO unless ofcourse like OSU all admits are sent out in a group. Along with the Purdue good news, I got a reject from GA. That means top 10 colleges (4 applied) all reject. Maybe my experience (just passed out in 2020 Aug) was not sufficient though I seem to have scalped something out by decent CGPA and a few Intl. Publications. Happy that I will hopefully fly out as Purdue is fine and I am more or less going to take it though I might wait for UCSD and for WiscMad PMP. Anyone has suggestions among these three can please respond. Two more awaited are UNC and PennState. All the best to other applicants.

First admit after applying for various schools starting October 2020. Will not take OSU as there is no funding provided and it is not worth the price. From tier 2 Indian (top state) college, 9.65 CGPA, 4 International conference/Papers and 2 in offing. Had rejects from Wis Mad, Princeton, UIUC. Purdue when asked over email stated on 3rd March, "I have sent the positive notifications for the MS program. Unfortunately, you are not being recommended for admission at this time. Official rejection notification will go out in the electronic application portal system in early April." Also collected a reject from UT.

[Ignore WL], Does anyone have any idea when the results will be declared. Do we assume a mass reject this year or do we have any chances? McGill is taking forever to release these decisions.

TTPB: Thanks!. Undergrad from Tier 1 Indian Uni. 3 International publications a mid - tier venues for ML. GPA - 8.5+/10. Did not contact any professor. Best of luck! Also, which would be better? Purdue or UC Davis? for MS CS
