1 year laboratory research experience but not so much advanced training. Extensive genomics research experience with 12 publications (6 in IF 3+ Journals) and 2 conference papers (8 as first author). Lot of extracurricular activities. However, I had to withdraw my M.Sc. supervisor as my recommender as he was insisting me to support his work rather allowing me for higher study. But his name still remained in the application system as withdrawn. Additionally, UW doesn't allow federal grant for international students. Don't know what exactly happened.

One first-author paper, four under review/preparation, and five years of research experience in various biology fields. Reject without an interview.

Fall 2023 - Invite to in-person or virtual interview weekend Jan 19-20.

Received an e-mail requesting a Zoom video chat on Dec 16. The professor informed me of the unofficial acceptance to UChicago during the Zoom chat.

Received an e-mail from a professor at Emory on Dec 21. She told me that I will receive a formal letter before the end of this week.
