5 years of industry experience in my area of research; had a phone interview with PI that went well and still rejected...god only knows what they expect

Finally, got the result after sooo much waiting… I stopped caring about it being positive or negative decision a long time ago…just wanted some closure… Got it finally.

Don't consider waitlisted. When can we expect decision for computer engineering from ECE?

Is anyone still waiting for their decision from the department. I emailed them no response. Any idea if they are done with admit and rejects or is anyone still waiting ?

What the hell is wrong with UCSD! Why charge a hefty amount of money when you cannot release the results by the stipulated date? Obviously people will go elsewhere irrespective of the result. Is it like a loyalty test or something that we are supposed to wait for them to admit us!! These are the universities who emailed us that the deadline will not be extended just because it is COVID. Shame on them!

TTPB: I am the guy who originally asked if anyone was waiting on a decision. I have total radio silence from ECE since the virtual recruitment event in Feb. Applied to EC78. Many people are probably on their internal waitlist and we can hope to get a decision next week or latest by end of this month. Peace.

[Ignore WL] I applied to the EC79 track, mailed the dept 2 weeks ago, got a standard reply stating "we will let you know by 14th April". Not a peep till date. It's frustrating that they mandate submissions by mid Dec, yet take their own time to release admits.

Was accepted at 7:30 PM EST, with the decision deadline being May 6 instead of April 15. Will decline.

I guess I was secretly waitlisted? WIll decline.

Anyone who has heard back yesterday/today with an update? I was told they will get back to me Wednesday am Pacific time, but I haven't heard anything from them yet.
