Materials Science And Engineering Graduate School Admission Results

No email notification. Directly check the website to see the admission letter. Probably will not accept this because I have received PhD offers elsewhere.

No interviews. Direct reject. Hopeless

I received the official admission letter from grad school. However, no funding offers are available from the program/PI till now. I tried to communicate with couple of professors (both core and affiliated) to join their group. But no funded positions were offered and no interviews were scheduled yet.

I wanted to know if anyone has heard from Material science and engineering department.

I have been informed that I am currently waitlisted and should hear back by 31 March.

TTPB: I don't think this is an interview. The zoom description says "This virtual event was organized for members of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund interested in pursuing a graduate degree related to the fields of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) and Materials Science and Engineering (MSE)."

Applied on Jan 5, was interviewed by the poi on 5th Feb and got accepted by email on 19th Feb officially in a fully-funded Ph.D. program. Contacted the poi before applying

Congatulations to those who got accepted! Acceptance would have been nice, but my research experience probably doesnt exactly overlap (though I had indicsted in my SOP that I wanted to explore areas outside the niche area of my undergrad research). I am currently a senior year mechanical engineering undergrad with 2.5 years of materials research, 1 publication(related to materials), 2 publications in the pipeline, very strong LoRs (Apart from my undergrad insti, 2 LOR's are from guides in Korea and Manchester), and graduating 1st class with honours.

I am currently a senior year mechanical engineering undergrad with 3.5 years of diverse research, 2 publications(both in fields not related to materials), 1 material science publication in print, very strong LoRs, and graduating 1st class with honours.
