To the post below, I quite don't understand the fuss about all these interviews as the official call (for any of the PhDs in Bocconi, except for Law) clearly mentions that the admission committee "might" conduct a long-distance interview to understand more about candidate's qualification - but NO POINTS ARE AWARDED for this interview. So, it doesn't really matter even if there is/isn't an interview invite. I understand that the admissions committee would like to talk to you (and perhaps, only) if they want to double-check/confirm something that might be peculiar in documents that you have submitted (in your sop/research interest/other qualification - for eg. if you have sought for English language exemption) - which may or may not affect the acceptance decisions. As far as Social and Political science is concerned, no haven't heard anything from them. But, of course, it's too early to worry abt it, as the call has provided a clear deadline of 16 March for the decision. So let's chill and keep ourselves relaxed. :)

Reached out to PI (EP) for an update on a decision since I attended the recruitment day in January. I was, unfortunately, rejected.

TTPB: My interests line up with social networks. From my experience this cycle, the more interdisciplinary/'unusual' (in a good way!) a program is, the more likely interviews are to matter. For example, no straightCS programs I applied to interviewed me before being accepted. But every information science program had interviews. This is simply because the interdisciplinary/unusual programs are looking for a more niche person.

Rejected and referred to the MAPH program. At least they're fast about it this time.

Has anyone heard back from UVa social Psychology?

Undergrad degree in poli sci. Referred to the MA Program in Social Sciences.

Admitted into Assets and Inequalities concentration. GPA is MA. Guaranteed funding for four years (tuition, healthcare, and mandatory expenses) + $21k yearly stipend w/ no TA/RAship requirement. Pretty stoked about this; will most likely attend!

I was ranked "very strongest" did anyone else receive their ranking in the letter that state 150 applicants, 10 spots?

I appreciate your interest in graduate study at Illinois. I regret to inform you, however, that our Graduate Admissions Committee did not recommend your admission to doctoral study in the Social-Personality Psychology program area. We have not reached this decision easily. We examined all applications conscientiously, accepting for each program those applicants who appeared to have the greatest potential. As always, and unfortunately, we had to deny admission to many applicants with very strong credentials. I sincerely hope that you will continue your studies at another institution and I wish you success in your career. I am sorry that we were unable to give you a favorable reply to your application for study at Illinois.

TTPB: Do you know if that was a personal email or a mass email?

No interview, received waitlist notice by email. "While we are not able to offer you admission at this time, we have placed you on a short waitlist for admission to the program for Fall 2021."

Rejected with generic email from admissions coordinator. Good research fit but not surprised, no interview or contact.
