Graduate School Admission Results

Got an email on Jan 2nd to have a zoom interview on Jan 6th. The email said it would only be for 20 minutes and on the zoom invite there was 3 research faculty members and 1 current student in the program. Is it normal to have such a short interview? The email said “During this Zoom interview, you will be virtually introduced to the SMB graduate programs and the college, interview with faculty, and meet current students.” but 20 minutes doesn’t seem like enough time to interview with the 3 faculty members and talk to the current student in the program.

1.5 years of undergraduate research experience, >2 years industry research experience. I received a phone call from a professor, then an email shortly after with the official offer letter and information to set up the in-person visit.

M3D program. Email that I have been waitlisted for an interview and will hear back by January 7th if I've made it off the waitlist. Fingers crossed!!

+2 years of lab experience, top public school for undergrad, 1 paper

1.5 Years of research experience; 4.0 Graduate GPA; 2 pending publications; email notification that there was an update to the portal. I had written what I thought was an amazing personal statement. I truly don't believe their admissions in holistic. Several years of research experience and connections to UW are always #1.

2 years of undergrad part time lab, 1 full time summer internship. No publications, 2 posters.
