Graduate School Admission Results

Worked at industry for 6 years, with 7 publications (two books and T1 journal articles). Berkeley is good but not my dream school yet. Still wait and see for European institutions to release their results in mid year.

Notified on application portal today that I had been placed on the Waitlist. If any of you are accepted to the UC Berkeley Medical Anth program but are considering other programs, please decide before the April deadline!

Got an email from the POI. So happy about this! He told me that all the interviews are completed, and decisions have been made. Those who have applied should hear back soon!

I was contacted via phone by POI in late January letting me know I was accepted, and received my official acceptance on 2/3

I completed a bioarchaeology field school in Spain, had a biological anthropology internship at the Field Museum in Chicago, am the President of the Sociology + Anthro Club at my school, founded the first undergraduate humanities and social science academic journal at my school, have a 3.8 GPA in my anthropology classes, am a member of Lambda Alpha, and have glowing reviews from respected anthropologists. I am convinced that I was not accepted as I did not have a strong relationship with a professor at UT Knoxville. However, I spent months contacting professors via email + phone, and nobody ever gave me the time of day to meet and talk about my research. Therefore, for no fault of my own, I was unable to forge a meaningful relationship. Comment below if you think its ridiculous that I was rejected!!!
