Graduate School Admission Results

Informal email from the POI, the website still hasn't updated to reflect my acceptance. Official letter to follow, was told funding decisions will be made in mid-March.

To the Emory poster below- follow the POI that you're most interested in, without a doubt! All of the schools you've been accepted into are good, so go with the POI(s) that most inspire you and best suit your research interests.

Got a phone call last week but have not received official email...was warned that it would take a bit for the school to process the documents

@March 10 poster, only 7 people were accepted. I would highly suggest emailing me them and asking for a detailed explanation. Also @ other people saying Berkely is bad: can you tell us why from your own personal experience and not from the dozens of various students involved in the program? Funding, personal lives, motivation and etc all go into your OWN experience and view of the department. Berkeley might be a terrible or amazing experience, but you won't know because you will never experience it. You're judging it based on hearsay just as they newly admitted students are :).

Has anyone heard anything from American University's anthro department? I was told by their admissions director to expect notifications to go out almost 3 weeks ago. Are they always slow?

Did anyone get off the waitlist except the person below?

Received an email from Graduate Admissions counselor that I got accepted to work with my POI.

Figured, but really encouraging handwritten note was included. Still a harsh reality.

Took way too long and way too late in the season to receive this answer.

First reject. Saw it coming but hurt. I appreciate they send out rejections early.

hey yall has anyone heard back from Cultural anthro department.. Dept chair let me know notifications would begin going out last week and continue into this week...dying to know my status!!

Not surprised. I've already accepted a position in my top choice program. Congratulations to those admitted!
