Graduate School Admission Results

Got an email to check the application portal and saw I was accepted. I'll more than likely decline though, as I got accepted into a PhD program elsewhere. This is more or less to show future generations what my stats were when I was admitted. Law GPA 3.2

Generic rejection. Email to check the portal. Second round of applications and will likely be rejected again from all this time. Not sure I can do this a third time. I have three years of research experience in my field, four in total, 1 PRD first-author publication and two on the way—a bachelor's and a Master's in physics from the top university in my country. 1 year of teaching assistant work to undergrads. I don't know what went wrong. Perhaps this much is not enough to even be able to start PhD research.

Not surprised.

Sent an e-mail to the department, and was informed that all acceptances had already been sent out some time ago. Evidently they don't bother informing rejected applicants of their decision until the very last minute. If you haven't heard from UMD, you've almost certainly been rejected. This is my second year in a row being rejected by every single program I applied to. Graduated a year ago with a BSc in physics and mathematics. Six years of research experience in experimental cosmology (two at a university while in high school, and four during undergrad). Attended one conference, and presented at three undergraduate research symposia. Attended three summer NSF REU programs, one summer school in experimental cosmology, and one summer school in experimental particle physics Worked as a teaching assistant in physics for three years as an undergraduate, and have spent the past year working as a part-time instructor and tutor in physics at the local community college. Contributed to several widely-used open-source software projects made use of in cosmology, astrophysics, and high-energy physics (including two CERN packages). Also completed a year-long senior thesis with a professor doing cosmology research at an external institution (in addition to the research I had been conducting at my home institution). I don't have the slightest clue what went wrong. I significantly revamped my CV and essays this year. I also used three entirely different recommenders. I think this is it for me and physics. No financial aid information with acceptance notification

Received an email at 3 am this morning to check my student portal and received an acceptance. Super excited to start in the fall!

IGNORE STATUS: Did anyone hear back after the 2/6 interview date yet?

Application was updated to 'Under Grad School Review' from February 25th to March 6th before being denied.

GPA is grad. I had emailed the English department grad coordinator again to follow up on being waitlisted and what the process looks like. They did not really say that but I was informed that the waitlist is quite long and that if I have an offer from somewhere else it is better to accept that. Just letting those who are on the waitlist know so in case you already have a good offer, you should take it. Seems like it’s gonna be hard to get off the waitlist.

Has anyone heard anything from College Park after the interviews?
