At this time, we have placed you on a waitlist for funding and admission at the University of Maryland's Department of Economics. We may be able to extend some offers of admission and department funding for applicants like you who are currently on this waitlist, and we expect to be able to start making those decisions after April 1. In the meantime, we urge you to be in touch with us regarding any other offers of admission that you receive. We would also appreciate it if you would let us know as soon as you feel comfortable if you have competing offers that you think clearly dominate an offer from our Department. To help your decision-making process, I am providing you with information now as to what a funded offer will contain if we are able to extend one to you. Admitted applicants who are funded will receive a stipend of $22,732 per year for the first two years in the program, along with tuition remission and subsidized medical insurance. Assuming satisfactory progress in the program, we will extend the standard funding package through the fifth year of study. Your funding for the first year will be either a fellowship or graduate assistantship. You will be a graduate assistant in years two through five; graduate assistantships typically involve teaching or research. Acceptance received 3 weeks after submitting the application. Currently finishing UG degree at a top 10 UK uni - predicted to graduate with a first.

Same as others: Priority waitlist for funding and admission. Anyone who is admitted but wait for funding? I just wonder if the priority waitlist is a general waitlist.

Any idea what's going on with Columbia? No news. No interview invitation. Is this IR?

Received the email mentioned below, asking for my interest in joining the program without any funding. I am interpreting this as an acceptance as most of my other peers has not received a similar email. I have replied now that I will not be taking the offer. [Not interview] Does anybody have any idea why USC decided to send out rejections first? Previous years the first contacted accepted students to confirm their interest, only then the rejected ones. Anyways, I hope that not getting any info now can be a good sign
