To the post holder below for the combined MPhil/DPhil Economics: Congrats! Was there any useful information on the email regarding no of application this year and which scholarship you were awarded? I hope they delayed sending offers so that they have funding decisions included!

Combined MPhil+DPhil program, full funding (15k) for five years

Didn't even bother to write my name. WTF. Got 3 strictly better offers- "Good afternoon, Thank you for your application to the Ph.D. program in Economics at the University of Texas at Austin. We receive many strong applications and have a small number of spots available in our program. We regret to inform you that your application was not selected for admission. We wish you the best."

Same email... 515 candidates for 15 slots. This year is so competitive. Had already been expecting the rejection. 2a/4wl/3r/2p

Portal still indicated "Your application is currently under review.". Anyone knows how is Rochester rolling out their offers?

Really nice email from prof. Ravallion saying they recieved more than 500 applications aiming a class-size of 15 students, and there was a tough competition between more than 100 applicants.

Appreciate their email. "I am sorry to say that you will not be receiving an offer from us. I know this is sad to hear, but it was really competitive this year, with 515 applications for just 15 slots. There were 100's of applicants that we would love to have admitted, but it was not possible given the constraints. If the University had given us more positions then the news would have been different for some of you. It is not going to be feasible to give you individual feedback. But please don't be disheartened by this news in your desire to become a PhD Economist. We all have these setbacks in life, but we must all move on. "

TPB: hi, did you receive any interviews before？

MAPSS ECON 30k scholarship. For the previous post, tuition is 63k, and all school based cost (excluding food and housing) is about 69k.

Not a WL: Still did not hear anything from them. The portal still "Application received". Is it an IR?
