I just declined these offers. To the guy who kept asking who is going to decline an offer from Syracuse. I hope this helps.

Previously interviewed and waitlisted with "top of waitlist" wording, but no "top-5 in the list" communication as another post mentioned. I e-mailed the program this week and was told I'm unlikely to be admitted.

Gutted. Absolutely gutted. I am sorry to inform you that all positions at the PhD program have now been filled. The applicants to the PhD program this year have been extremely strong, and I am sorry that we cannot enroll more students into the program. There are so many talented students and I can only hope that most of you have been enrolled in other programs that will enable you to develop into great economists."
