MCDB, University Of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) interview jan31-mar2 . Got really screwed over in the interview. they only got me 1 interview with research faculty because they decided not to put me on the IQ bio weekend, so they crammed that IQ bio orientation info into my interview time. Very unhappy with the organization of the program and grad students seemed unhappy. wouldn't have accepted in any case.

MCDB, UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) 4.0 M.S. GPA, 2.9 B.S. GPA (both from outside of the U.S.), three years of full-time research experience with one year being at a top 10 research institution in the US, four middle-author papers in minor journals and one second-author in IF>30 journal, one provisional U.S. patent. 116 in the TOEFL.

MCDB, University Of Pittsburgh US citizen studying abroad - I thought this meant that I'd been on their waitlist, but the professor who contacted me said that they co-ordinate their Skype interviews at a much later date than their in person visits. This was also very unexpected as I realized during the application process that the program and I weren't a good fit for each other. Maybe my SoP wasn't bad as I'd thought it was (this was my very last application this cycle)! Either way, declined the offer as I've been accepted to programs that are a better fit.

IQ Bio, University Of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) didn't even go to the IQ bio interview weekend because there "wasn't room." instead, during the MCDB weekend (jan31-feb2) they had me interview with two IQ bio admin faculty and only ONE research faculty. wasted my time
